Paul Eden ACII, Chartered Insurance Broker: Director
Starting his career with a major insurer in 1987 as an underwriter and account manager, Paul switched to working with the voluntary and care sectors as a broker in 1997. As a Director of the Arthur J Gallagher Charity Practice with nearly 20 years voluntary sector insurance broking experience, Paul brings a balanced perspective and a high level of expertise to the construction and delivery of effective charity insurance and risk management programmes.
Edgar Flaherty ACII, Chartered Insurance Broker: Director
Edgar joined Royal Insurance as a graduate trainee in 1988, before moving to work as a charity specialist insurance broker in 1996. As a Director of the Arthur J Gallagher Charity Practice, Edgar works with a wide range of voluntary sector clients, advising them on risk and insurance issues.
Simon Aldred ACII, Chartered Insurance Broker: Head of Northern Ireland Charities
Simon has been in the Insurance industry for over 25 years. He ran his own insurance brokerage for 20 years until May 2014 when following an approach his business was acquired by Arthur J. Gallagher, where he is now a member of the Senior Management Team in Belfast. Since joining Simon has been working with the Charity team at Arthur J. Gallagher to deliver expertise and a range of insurance solutions to charities and not for profit organisations in Northern Ireland. Simon is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute and a Chartered Insurance Practitioner. He also holds a Master of Business Administration qualification.
Darrin Baggott Cert CII: Claims Manager
Darrin started his career with an international insurance broker in 1984 as a commercial claims handler. He joined Arthur J. Gallagher in 1997 and was appointed Regional Claims Manager which included responsibility for Charities & Healthcare. He now has overall responsibility for the Charities Healthcare claims function and works closely with individual clients to design and implement claims programmes, in addition to overseeing a team of specialist handlers.
Garry Hockey: Branch Manager London
Garry has been working in the insurance industry for the last 18 years, 10 of which has been specialising within the Voluntary Sector working with not for profit organisations to help them understand risk, to provide cost effective and adequate risk transfer to insurers. Experience also includes Underwriting within the voluntary sector and risk management advice.
Sarah Owen ACII: Charity Underwriting Manager
Sarah has worked in the insurance industry for over 17 years, the last 12 of which have been dedicated to the charity and voluntary sector. Sarah has done a variety of roles including both broking and underwriting and was instrumental in creating the Arthur J. Gallagher Charity Underwriting Divison in 2010 which she now manages. Sarah and her team of dedicated underwriters deliver sector specific insurance solutions to Arthur J. Gallagher clients. She holds the Advanced Diploma in Insurance (A.C.I.I).
Alyson Pepperill ACII, Chartered Insurance Risk Manager: Client Project Director
Alyson has worked in the insurance industry for over 30 years in both broking and underwriting roles, and with charities since 1995. Alyson is a Certified Fellow of the Institute of Risk Management (IRM) and Chairs the IRM Charities Special Interest Group. Alyson writes for sector publications, the Arthur J. Gallagher technical bulletins, as well as speaking on risk and insurance at internal and external events.
Phil Snow: Branch Manager Barnstaple
Phil joined Royal Insurance as a Commercial Underwriter in 1992 moving to a specialist Charity Insurance broker in 2000. As the Arthur J Gallagher Barnstaple Branch Director Phil and his team specialise in creating and managing insurance solutions for affinity based client groups operating within the Charity and Voluntary Sector across the length and breadth of the UK.
